Things That Suck - Mary Sues, Part 2

I'd just like to say that my system of not-organizing is horrible at times, but I'm too lazy to change it. Couldn't find the start of this Sue-analyzing for ages. Oh well.

This was my first character ever; the subject of the first story I ever wrote at the tender age of nine. Her name is Misti Kamiah, she was a Pokemon trainer from Johto, and this one is so ridiculous, I'd like to apologize in advance. Seriously, this is really that bad.

FULL NAME: Misti Kamiah
SPECIES: Human/Saiyajin/Sailor Senshi (told ya.)
HAIR: Blue
EYES: Blue, no pupils
MARKINGS: None
POSESSIONS: Pokemon, a necklace that allows her to transform
CONNECTIONS TO CANON: Kidnapped the female G/S/C trainer's appearance, love interest of Tracey and G/S/C rival, later was Lance and Clair's daughter
SPECIAL ABILITIES: Psychic powers, ability to talk to her Pokemon with said psychic powers, ability to get hurt a lot for no real reason?

Appearance-wise, she started out as your average Pokemon trainer. I wasn't paying attention to the clothes or the hair or anything like that when I first started, but as she was modeled after me, let's say brown eyes, brown hair, probably jeans and a t-shirt. I can't remember what happened in that first story, except that the first scene was the last fight of her challenging the Elite Four in Kanto. (Lost that old notebook, unfortunately.) In any case, the first stories were simply about the Pokemon and Misti's battles with the main characters of the show. I was nine, after all.

But fast-forward two years, and it's just snowballed out of control. At some point in those two years, whenever Pokemon Crystal came out, I stole the female character's appearance and went wild.

(For the record, my team was always Typhlosion, Pidgeot, Raichu, Ninetails, Arcanine, and Charizard. Three guess as to what my favorite type was, first two don't count.)

First off, she's a psychic. An extremely powerful psychic, not that you didn't see that coming. At some point, she was capable of flight, as well as being able to sense psychic emanations all across Kanto (or something like that). She had the affections of Tracey, who was the object of my first fangirlings. She was a far better trainer than the other main characters, and so on. Unfortunately, the wall-bangers just keep coming.

As I mentioned before, I had to pull out two of my old diaries for this, and was suitably horrified and appalled when I read this. Misti's mother, who was, until that point, the player character's mother from Gold/Silver/Crystal, was actually me. According to me (along with Frieza and Goku, who just happened to be there), I was pulled into the Pokemon world at some point, informed that I was a Saiyajin, and found a magical staff and pendant that would transform me into Sailor Sun. Later, I settled down and had a child with Lance. Oh, and Tracey was also a Saiyajin, and the son of my (real-life) best friend with Drake of the Orange League.

Yeah.

Later on, I ditched all the non-Pokemon elements and simply made her a psychic Fire-type trainer. Tracey was also dropped in favor of the second-gen rival, who I originally called Blair but eventually changed to Carai. And when I was reading, it was sort of funny how my strange sadomasochistic tendencies were already apparent at the age of eleven. Funny/scary. Whichever works. Anyways, she kept getting sick and had to be tended to a lot; later she became blind. Then when I merged all my fic-verses into one, she became a lesbian. But by that time, she was pretty much useless.

I remember my friends writing similar characters. We used to swap notebooks to have something to read on the super-long bus rides home from middle school. I should show this to them. Or else show up at their houses with the originals, grinning maniacally and saying, "Remember this?"

Misti's legacy: The aforementioned sadomasochistic tendencies. Thankfully, nothing else survived.
